Digunakan untuk menceritakan sesuatu yang sedang berlangsung di masa lampau ketika terjadi kejadian lain di masa lampau.

Format :

................. to be + being + verb III .. + past tense

''to be'' yang dipakai ialah ''was'' dan ''were''

Examples :

1. The book was being borrowed by Tetra when my brother asked about the book.

2. The potatoes were being baked by my mother when her friends came for lunch together.

Negative Form

1. The book wasn't being borrowed by Tetra when my brother asked about the book..

2. The potatoes weren't being baked by my mother when her friends came for lunch together.

Interrogative Form

1. Was the book being borrowed by Tetra when my brother asked about the book?

No, it wasn't, atau

Yes, it was

2. Were the potatoes being baked by my mother when her friends came for lunch together?

No, they weren't atau,

Yes, they were
